Can I use
my debit card or check card to make a car rental reservation?
TravelWorm allows you to purchase a reservation using
your debit or check card. However, some car vendors
restrict the use of these cards to rent a vehicle. In
addition, some cards have a "daily withdrawal"
limit that will not allow you to exceed a certain amount,
regardless of the amount of money in the account. If
you are unsure of your daily withdrawal limit, please
consult your bank. Also, some car vendors may charge
a deposit of $200 or more for debit or check card use,
in addition to the cost of the rental, which you will
incur at the beginning of the rental. Please remember,
if you decide to use your debit card, you are subject
to all rules and restrictions from the vendor
What is
the penalty if I cancel my car reservations?
Car reservations cancelled within 48 hours of pick up
are subject to a cancellation penalty equal to one day's
rental cost. The car vendor, not by TravelWorm, charges
this penalty. In addition, if you fail to pick up your
vehicle within 2 hours of your scheduled arrival time,
the rental location will be authorized to bill the credit
card for the appropriate amount.
What are
the "taxes and fees" associated with my car
rental?
When making a car reservation the "taxes and fees"
consist of an Airport Access Fee, a Vehicle License
Fee, and State and Rental Tax. Other fees and taxes
may be assessed depending on the rental location you
have selected. All fees and taxes are calculated as
a percentage of the base cost, while the percentage
used to calculate the taxes and fees varies based on
the city and/or location you are renting your vehicle
from. TravelWorm charges a booking fee of $5.00 per
car reservation at the time of booking. The vendor will
charge the cost of the rental at either the time you
pick up or return the vehicle.
I am under
25 years of age - is there an extra fee to rent a car?
Some car vendors may charge an "Underage Driver
Fee". Depending on the car vendor, this price varies.
If you have any questions regarding the car vendor you
have booked a reservation with, contact either a TravelWorm
Travel Consultant or the car vendor directly.
Can I book
a car reservation for a third party on TravelWorm?
Currently, car vendor policies do not permit third party
rentals. If you are renting a vehicle, you must be the
credit-card holder and be booked as the driver on the
reservation.
Can I pick
up my rental car in one city and return it to another?
To make a one-way car rental reservation, please contact
a TravelWorm Travel Consultant toll-free, for immediate
assistance.
How will
my credit card transactions appear on my credit card
statement?
For car rentals there is NO charge until the client
presents a credit card on pick-up/drop-off. The $5 fee
shows as "TravelWorm" and IS charged at time
of reservation.
What is
a Car Record Locator?
The Car Record Locator is the customer confirmation
code used by the car vendors.
What is
the Approximate Rental Car Company Cost?
The approximate rental car cost is calculated by Sabre,
and is approximate because all taxes are calculated
as a percentage. It is not always provided for all car
vendors.
What is
a Confirmation #?
This is the Sabre Record Locator, which is the confirmation
code used to locate your car reservations.
